Welcome
Monday, March 8th, 2021The husband and wife team of professional artists Roy Blankenship and Lois Showalter are professional painters who actively exhibit, lecture, and demonstrate their painting techniques to collectors, artists, and educators. Home based in Wilmington, Delaware, they spend summer months in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and the New England states.
Roy Blankenship finds inspirations to paint landscapes and marine subjects of the Chesapeake Bay, Brandywine River, the Poconos, and the New England states. He is also a professional painting restorer and FELLOW of the American Institute For Conservation. He has an extensive biography on both his art, painting conservation, and writing careers.
Lois Showalter specializes in watermedia and is inspired by the light and play of shadows on her subjects. Lois is primarily engaged in painting colorful still life works but enjoys painting scenes along the Brandywine River, in the hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania, and the coastal views of the New England states. She is a graduate of Lock Haven University and works with her husband in their conservation business.
Both Roy and Lois are represented by numerous art associations and have won a number of awards in the Middle Atlantic and New England states. Their work is represented in many public and private collections nationally and articles about them and their work has been published in books, magazines, and newspapers. They encourage and inspire each other to paint and write.
